Food Service Deliver Truck Driver
Food Service
16 hours per week (8 hours Thursday and Friday)
Salary: $16.75 - $17.78 per hour
DESCRIPTION: Delivers food and supplies as needed for the district’s breakfast, lunch, snacks, summer food service and catering programs. Transfers delivered products to and from appropriate storage areas and to district kitchen facilities. Pick up and delivers food and supplies for use in all WSD food service programs. Responsible for transferring and handling of money. Maintains records as required to perform delivery duties. Drives delivery truck in a safe and courteous manner as measure by maintenance of a clean driving record and absence of community complaints. Cleans the vehicles interior and exterior as needed. Maintains vital vehicle fluid levels to insure long life of equipment. Fills in where needed to insure efficient operation. Suggests improvements to operating format. Works a variety of hours and schedules and maintains an attitude of flexibility in this area to meet the requirements of providing a high level of customer service. Recognizes and reports all necessary vehicle and facilities maintenance needs promptly. Communicates with teammates and customers respectfully and courteously. Transfers delivered products to require storage areas and rotates product as needed. Adheres to all sanitation regulations as prescribed by the state or district, especially those related to the proper food handling during shipping and storage. Attends and participates in mandatory meetings. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington State Drivers License and a clean driving record. Valid Washington Food Handler’s Permit or ability to obtain. Past experience with route delivery service preferred. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to relate well to students and staff. Maintain accurate records/reports. Physically able to manually move, lift, carry, or push heavy objects or materials. Must lift and carry cases and sacks up to 70 pounds, 30-50 times per shift. Operate delivery truck and hydraulic lift gate unassisted. Requires standing 90 percent o f the shift. Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments. Must work in and around fumes and odors. Requires standing, stooping, bending, lifting, turning and reaching. Must maintain a high standard of personal hygiene. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.
