POSITION #305-CLS-09/17:      

 

Activity Instructors – After School Programs

(up to 30 positions available)

Orchard and Pioneer Middle Schools

Columbia, Mission View, Lincoln and Lewis & Clark Elementary

Varied Days and Hours – Up to 2.5 hours per day

Up to 5 days per week, after school hours

Salary: *$16.00 per hour (new) or $16.50 per hour (returning Activity Instructors)

                                                                 

 

DESCRIPTION: Present after school workshops or weekly sessions to elementary and/or middle school students. Varied hours and days as determined by instructor. Possible classes could include: Cooking, Art, Dance, Minecraft, Robotics, Sports/Recreation, Leadership, Arts & Crafts, Computers, Drama, Yoga. Additional topics are welcomed! Topics you are comfortable teaching should be included in your cover letter.      

 

*Applications should include a letter of introduction that indicates the topic/activity you plan to lead.

                                                                                                                                   

QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience working with children (3rd – 5th) and youth (6th-8th). Passion and enthusiasm for enrichment topic. Knowledge and background in subject area.  Ability to relate well with students, staff and parents.  Strong human relations skills.  Must work in noisy and crowded environment. May require prolonged sitting or standing.

Disclosure Statement and Record Check:  Pursuant to Chapter 486, Washington Laws of 1987, the recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he or she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law. In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
