Para-Educator

Mission View Elementary

1.33 hours per day/191 days per year

(LIT – 2017-2018 school year)

Salary:  $12.86 - $15.14 per hour

                                                                                        

DESCRIPTION:  Supervise students at recess in all weather.  A true interest in organizing recess games for students during their recess time. Coordinate with program staff to deliver services. Attend in-service trainings and meetings as appropriate. Other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum AA degree or equivalent (72 college credits) or passed Praxis test required.  Technology skills are important. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to relate well to students, parents and staff. Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.  Wear appropriate clothing for climate and weather during recess.  Patience, flexibility, self-motivated, positive and a calm personality. Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral directions.  Ability to work as a team player.  Ability to take input from other members of the team as well as share insights that may enhance the student program. Good academic skills.  May require prolonged sitting or standing.   Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
