POSITION #355-CRT-10-24:

Math/Science Teacher 

Foothills Middle School 

.5 FTE, Continuing Contract 

 

DESCRIPTION: Teach multiple levels of math and science content to middle school students.  Plan, implement and evaluate classroom instruction consistent with building and district curriculum and the Marzano Instructional Framework.  Work with interdisciplinary team to create units of study that are cross-curricular, project based, and standards aligned.  Collaborate daily with grade level team.  Engage with students in extended opportunities (extra-curricular and enrichment).  Report student progress to students, parents, administration, and interdisciplinary team.  Be an active member in supporting team, building, and district initiatives and professional development.  Attend building/district meetings and conferences as required.  Create and deliver interventions/enrichments as needed. Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington state certification with appropriate endorsements.  Middle level teaching experience preferred.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.  Ability to instruct multiple levels of math and science is necessary.  Capable of integrating technology to enhance the learning environment. Positive relationship building skills are essential.  It is important to have excellent organizational and planning skills.  Evidence of ability to work effectively and positively with students, parents and staff.  Strong communication and technical skills.  Collaboration skills are critical. Knowledge of Student Learning Standards.  Ability to engage and excite students about content and its application to life and work beyond school.  Ability to work as a team player and understand the needs of middle school students.  Flexibility and ability to adapt are necessary. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.  May require prolonged sitting or standing.
