Special Education

1.0 FTE, Non-Continuing 

January 6, 2025 - June 13, 2025 only

DESCRIPTION: Work with students who qualify for special services and are in need of medical assistance which can be delivered in a school environment.  Work to support both medical and educational support as needed. This position will be at Pioneer and Lincoln to start, and a mix of 1:1 and program support. Attend building/district meetings and conferences as required.  Other related duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: (BSN) Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.  Willing and able to procure temporary Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification prior to employment as required for those holding a BSN degree.  Willing and able to complete ESA certification within 2 years of being hired is required for those holding a BSN degree. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Ability to work with students preteen to age 21. Must be able to work as a part of an educational team; able to communicate with parents and the local medical community; able to develop health plans and work in coordination with nurses. Must have a valid Washington state license to practice as an RN. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.

Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement:  The recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of employment eligibility prior to working.

 

Disclosure Statement and Record Check:  Pursuant to Chapter 486, Washington Laws of 1987, the recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he or she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law. In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
