Summer Food Service Manager (2 positions available)

Nutrition Services

Mandatory Training Day: June 18, 2024

Work Days: June 20 - August 1, 2024 (no work week of July 4th)

Monday through Thursday

2 - 6 hours per day

Salary: $23.80 - $26.28 per hour 

 

Responsibilities: Oversee staff, meal preparation, and delivery at one of the summer meal sites. Handles all required records and reports (Including but not limited to Production Records, Employee Attendance Records, Mealtime requirements, Purchasing, Transfers, and Inventories) ensuring that they are accurate and maintained in accordance with district and USDA Child Nutrition requirements, are submitted by deadline or are up to date and available for review at any time. Current and thorough knowledge of state requirements for USDA Child Nutrition is maintained as measured by inspection, and random testing. Maintains product levels through purchasing, receiving, and inventory control. Oversees staff coaching, counseling and discipline. Supervises meal preparation to ensure the USDA Child Nutrition requirements for reimbursable meals are being met. Maintains an attitude of flexibility when dealing with everyone to resolve problems with students, staff, or production. Communicates with everyone respectfully and courteously. Operates many required computerized systems. Fills in when and wherever needed to ensure efficient kitchen operation. Implements improvements to the operating format. Conducts daily inspections of all areas of the facility and periodically inspects satellite facilities to ensure compliance with established standards. Other duties as assigned.     

 

Qualifications:  Valid Washington Food Handlers’ Permit. Valid Washington State Drivers License. One-year high volume food service experience required. Previous management experience preferred. Ability to relate well to students, staff, and parents. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to maintain accurate records/reports. Requires physical ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must maintain a high standard of personal hygiene. Attendance and punctuality are critical functions of this position.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
