Preschool Special Education Teacher

1.0 FTE, Non-Continuing Contract (leave replacement)  

9/16/2024 - 2/28/2025 Only  

                                                       

DESCRIPTION:  Work with students ages 3-5 in a preschool setting. Assist Special Education and regular education staff with IEP development; assisting Special Education staff with data collection. Participate in appropriate activities. Support programs and district in-service education programs. Attend MDT, IEP, building and district meetings and conferences as required. Other related duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Valid Washington state teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s). Experience with writing and following the IEP and helping general education staff to design and implement differentiated programming in the core content areas. Must be able to work as part of a team and supervise placement of special education classified staff that support the program. Knowledge of Special Education rules (state and federal). Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, positive attitude and proven ability for organization and meeting timelines. May require prolonged sitting or standing.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
