Warehouse Assistant/Pony Driver – Maintenance & Operations

4 hours per day/260 days per year

Salary:  $16.90-$19.63 per hour

                                                                       

DESCRIPTION:  Under general supervision, assist with daily needs of M&O operations. Two hours per day as Warehouse Assistant, two hours per day as Pony Driver. Regular work shift is 9:00am - 1:00 p.m., except when required for special deliveries or tasks. Warehouse Assistant duties include storing and accounting for supplies and equipment received in the school district warehouse. Assist warehouse with loading and unloading of commodities, surplus, furnishings, equipment, custodial supplies and other items as needed. Receives shipments to district warehouse, checks for quantities, identifies and inspects for damage. Performs liaison with carriers. Arranges for reuters and returnable items. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment in the warehouse. Sorts, packs and arranges supplies and equipment for shipment to schools and other district facilities. Schedules and assists in delivery of supplies and materials to and between school buildings. Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Pony Driver duties include providing pick-up and delivery services of inter-district mail to the schools and worksites of the district. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and have an excellent driving record. Must have or be able to obtain Forklift Operator Certification.  Must be 18 years or older. Two years of warehouse delivery experience in a school setting preferred. Must be very customer service oriented. Must pass a Washington State Patrol Criminal History Information Form, required by RCW 43.43.830. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
